Jade Lakes, Upper Brooks and Rainbow Lake
Distance: 5.5 - 8.3 miles (Round Trip)
Multi-hued volcanic cliffs towering over 1,000-ft. above a quintet of pretty lakes are the stars of the show on these scenic hikes in the Brooks Lake area in the southern Absaroka Range, located to the east of the Tetons.
Distance: 7.2 - 15.6 miles (Round Trip)
Lovely forests and meadows filled with wildflowers along with views of peaks rimming South Leigh Canyon, Fred’s Mountain and the summit of the Grand Teton, are the rewards of this hike up a pretty canyon. Parties looking for an easier hike can turn around at the meadows, located at 3.6 miles.
South Teton Trail to Mirror Lake in Alaska Basin
Distance: 5.4 - 15.8 miles (Round Trip)
Wildflowers and great views of the peaks and cliffs rimming the South Fork Teton Canyon are the highlights of this long hike, best done as a backpack, climbing to beautiful Alaska Basin. Day hikers will find a scenic turn around point in the meadows below the basin.
Distance: 7.8 - 12.0 miles (Round Trip)
This beautiful hike up a dramatic canyon leads to the pretty, wildflower-filled meadows of the upper canyon set beneath rugged peaks. Extend the hike by walking to a viewpoint with vistas extending to the cliffs of Death Canyon Shelf and Mount Bannon.
Distance: 8.2 - 9.4 miles (Round Trip)
Stunning views of Middle Teton, Nez Perce and Jackson Hole are the highlights of this scenic hike up Garnet Canyon. This trail, part of the popular climbing route to Grand, Middle and South Tetons, is not as heavily trafficked as nearby Amphitheater Lakes.
Green Lakes and Granite Basin Lakes Loop
Distance: 10.2 - 14.2 miles (Loop)
Ascend through forest and meadows to the Green Lakes Basin at the head of North Leigh Canyon, tucked between Green Mountain and the Continental Divide. Extend the hike by crossing the divide to Granite Basin Lakes, nestled at the head of South Leigh Canyon.
Distance: 3.4 - 9.3 miles (Round Trip)
The hike up Cascade Canyon features a scenic boat ride, beautiful waterfall and nice overlook with views of Jenny Lake, surrounding peaks and the Gros Ventre Mountains. Beyond the viewpoint the hike gently ascends gorgeous Cascade Canyon beneath towering peaks.
Taggart and Bradley Lakes Loop
Distance: 5.3 - 6.7 miles (Loop)
Impressive views of Tetons are the hallmark of this scenic loop trail visiting photogenic Taggart and Bradley Lake, set in beautiful basin beneath the majestic Teton Range.
Distance: 8.0 - 14.0 miles (Round Trip)
This trail on the west (back) side of the Teton Range climbs steeply to the scenic Teton Shelf with fine views of the granite cliffs towering above the shelf, the peaks rising above Alaska Basin and the summits of Grand, Middle and South Tetons.
Surprise and Amphitheater Lakes
Distance: 9.8 - 10.5 miles (Round Trip)
A scenic hike to two lovely lakes tucked in a rugged cirque beneath Disappointment Peak. Views from the lakes extend to high summits of the Teton Range; Middle Teton, Grand Teton, Mount Owen and Teewinot Mountain.
Distance: 5.6 miles (Round Trip)
This popular, family friendly hike ascends lovely meadows filled with beautiful wildflowers in the pretty Coal Creek Valley. The path leads to Mesquite Divide, a saddle with views of Grand Teton, Rendezvous Peak and the high ridge to the south of Moose Lakes.

An unsigned trail leads to a route climbing to Breccia Peak where stunning views encompass the Tetons, the southern Absaroka Mountains and the Wind River Range. Closer at hand are terrific views of the North Breccia Cliffs and the Cub Creek drainage.

This short trail leads to the beautiful meadows of Bonneville Pass with nice views of Pinnacle Buttes and the volcanic peaks and cliffs rising above the Brooks Lake area and the Dunoir Valley, located to the northeast of the Tetons.
Marion Lake via the Teton Village Tram
Distance: 13.0 miles (Round Trip)
Ride the Jackson Hole Aerial Trail to the start of this long, strenuous hike journeying into the Tetons backcountry. The path follows a scenic section of the Teton Crest trail to pretty Marion Lake, nestled in bench beneath the divide.
Distance: 3.3 - 7.2 miles (Loop)
Hike through sagebrush flats, forest and meadows to scenic Phelps Lake, nestled in a glacial bowl beneath Prospector Mountain, Albright Peak and Static Divide Peak. Tailor the length of the hike to match the available time and the ability of your party.
String, Leigh, Bearpaw and Trapper Lakes
Distance: 3.2 - 10.0 miles (Round Trip)
Travel along a series of photogenic lakes with gorgeous views of the Teton Range stretching from Teewinot Mountain to Mount Moran. This is a great area for families or anyone looking for an easy, relaxed outing with great views.
Distance: 6.8 - 8.2 miles (Round Trip)
Great views of the Tetons and the peaks rimming the North and South Fork of Teton Canyon are the highlights of this off-the-beaten path trail climbing steeply up the north slopes of the North Fork to the ridge crest. Extend the hike by following a use trail along the panoramic ridge.
Distance: 3.3 miles (Loop)
Scenic Swan Lake and Heron Pond, nestled in lodgepole pine forest, offer good opportunities to see waterfowl and sometimes beaver and moose. Sections of the loop trail offer fine views of Mount Moran and its neighboring peaks towering above Jackson Lake.

Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point

This hike features a scenic boat ride, a beautiful waterfall and a nice overlook with views of Jenny Lake, nearby peaks and the Gros Ventre Mountains to the east.
Distance: 9.9 miles (Loop)
Two scenic ponds, views of the Tetons towering above Jackson Lake, a chance to see wildlife and some solitude make the Hermitage Point Loop a good option for hikers looking for an easy, full day hike or a good hike when weather precludes hiking in the high country.

The Region, the Hikes & the Base Camps
The Teton Range extends for 40 miles along the Wyoming / Idaho border, encompassing Grand Teton National Park near Jackson, Wyoming and the Jedediah Smith Wilderness in Teton National Forest near Driggs, Idaho. This section also includes hikes around Jackson including the Togwotee Pass area.
